For those who may not know, Marc Johnson left us a note …
The following stream from Hamish Patterson (also known as The Illusion) aired on May 20, 2026, on his "High Frequency Tribe Homestead" YouTube account.
I don’t think I need to recap what Mike Carroll did to Marc via the Jenkem interview on May 17, 2016, but adidas made the IG announcement that they were working with Mike Carroll for Jacob Rosenberg's “Epicenter” EMB book launch and Paris show on May 22, 2026— almost 10 years to the day of the Jenkem story.
In my opinion, history will remember this collaboration as the most sinister backstabs in the history of skateboarding.
Marc left this world on May 26, 2026, which was also the birthday of his dear friend, Dylan Rieder.
Before Marc passed, he changed the link in the @business.and.company (his skateboard brand) IG bio to specifically direct us to timestamp 51:33 of Patterson’s "Sober Wednesday 5-20-26” video.
In the final four-and-a-half minutes of this stream, Patterson discusses addiction, getting help and “self deletion” ... but perhaps most importantly, being good to one another
For now, I’ll let you draw your own conclusions about why Marc sent us to this, but I’ve clipped the segment, in its entirety, for safe keeping and historical record on my channels and website.
More from Marc soon ...
We miss you and love you, Marc 🕊️🖤
