I find it kind of funny that the "security" (and I use that term loosely because this dude looked like the type of guy who would camp out for a week at the mall for tickets to a new Star Wars film) in Orange County (John Wayne) airport needs their own Segways. Actually, I'm willing to bet it's one of the safest airports in the world. And if it wasn't and something gnarly were to go down, trust me, this twat wouldn't be able to do shit about it.
When I go to X Games and see BMX (because that's usually the only time I see BMX riding unfortunately) it brings me back to the old days, before I even skateboarded. I don't know too much about modern BMX riding. Hell, I don't even get how the dudes don't rock brakes anymore! But this Jamie Bestwick run was pretty cool to watch. He had already won the gold medal with his first run and this one was just for shits and giggles. I filmed it for etnies.com but decided...
Chris Cole won 10 grand with the 360 double flipper. The catch is pretty remarkable. Lizard King was in there during practice doing ollie one foot backlips and front boards, so I got him up in the mix too. Skaters featured in the contest include Chris Cole, Andrew Reynolds, Eric Koston, Nick Dompierre and Tony Tave.
Was down at Tim O'Connor's new place in NJ a week ago for his birthday. More on the party later. For now, check out his bitchin' mini dalmatians and his wife bitching about shitty beer. Sorry Jody, had to leave some of it in there! Check out Tim's feeble attempt at cracking a beer for the dogs near the end. Classic.
Here's a little montage of dudes from Phoenix Am. Skaters in order of appearance: Lizard King, Colin Hale, Short Bus, Marissa Del Santos, Nick Fiorini, Vince De Valle and Jordan Hoffart.
