I took a walk around Laguna Beach today...

And I saw this book in a store... It was pretty rad 'cuz these rhinos had backlips and bluntslides on lock.

I saw a box cutter in the bushes on PCH!

Here's my top three favorite limp-wristed-style pros:
1. Leo Romero
2. Tim O'Connor
3. Brent Achtley
Kinda digging Nestor Judkins and that Jimmy Lannon dude on Element too. And no, this isn't some sort of "gay" reference. I just happen to like skaters who do weird shit with their wrists while they skate.

When I go to X Games and see BMX (because that's usually the only time I see BMX riding unfortunately) it brings me back to the old days, before I even skateboarded. I don't know too much about modern BMX riding. Hell, I don't even get how the dudes don't rock brakes anymore! But this Jamie Bestwick run was pretty cool to watch. He had already won the gold medal with his first run and this one was just for shits and giggles. I filmed it for etnies.com but decided...

I was wondering why I saw Dave Carnie at the X Games... Now I know. I couldn't be more psyched on what he had to say either. Good thing I chased him for a minute to snap the photo, eh?

PLG is totally my new BFF since I was on Daily Habit with him. And Rune Glifberg rips. So I filmed their runs.

Ken Block used to own DC Shoes. Now he drives in the dirt and jumps cars and wins medals with his boy Travis Pastrana.

This was a bit of a low-key contest, but worth waiting around 'til 11pm on Friday for.
Chris Cole won 10 grand with the 360 double flipper. The catch is pretty remarkable. Lizard King was in there during practice doing ollie one foot backlips and front boards, so I got him up in the mix too. Skaters featured in the contest include Chris Cole, Andrew Reynolds, Eric Koston, Nick Dompierre and Tony Tave.

Since Jake Brown's slam is all the rage right now, I decided to show you
the second best slam of the weekend! Lizard King attempting cab front board, followed by a bonus Koston slam!

"Hmmm, looks like I'm about to die! And my name is right behind me on a billboard!"
Here's my view of the hottest craze of the weekend: Jake Brown's near death experience! I got new real photo gear so now you'll all be blessed with bigger and better photos. No more gay trife pocketcam crap (although some of the new stuff might suck 'cuz I'm just learning).

"Yup, I think I'm dead. This suuuucks!"

"Nah, I'm a gnarly Australian! Let's get a beer!"

So last Wednesday, in the midst of X Games preparation and trying to sort out all my new high-tech camera gear, I catch wind of some random contest hosted by Cartoon Network at the etnies park and walk down there. Don't ask me what the fuck Cartoon Network has to do with skateboarding, but whatever.

David's stoked on his first Brink sticker package!
So whatddya know? Koston's there, Kenny Anderson's there and David Loy is lurking about too. Perfect specimens for me to practice with the new camera. Then Loy came up to my office and pronounced himself the second official robbrink.com team rider. I have a few more riders on board. But I think I'm gonna need to be corpo and send out a press release. Details soon!
