David Gravette: Phoenix Am '07

I said it before and I'll say it again. David Gravette got robbed at Phoenix Am. Maybe he shouldn't have gotten first, but eighth place? Jesus that sucks ass. I would have been happy seein' him end up in third even. I wonder when contest judging will actually reflect what skateboarding really is? You know...fun, friends, originality, style, happiness, difficulty, versatility, trick selection, etc.? Or maybe I'm just a dreamer...

Does anyone remember when Mic-e Reyes won the Team Manager contest at Tampa Pro and why in 2003? That's what I'm talking about...

I didn't edit David's runs down entirely. Left some bails and slams and pushing in there. I feel it is kinda important that you see the way he skated and the way his runs looked and not just the tricks he made. Plus he's just downright funny to watch...pure personality on a skateboard. The final run is the run I felt should have had him way higher in the placings. And in case you were wondering, that's Andrew Cannon and "Jaws" you see David is doing tricks over. Thanks again, David. Keep up the good stuff...

One final note, in case y'all haven't noticed, because increased traffic shut down my site the day after Tampa Pro, I have been embedding YouTube versions of my videos here on the homepage but also providing links to a downloadable, cleaner versions as well. You can watch whichever version suits your fancy, just give the Quicktime one a minute to load as usual, because it is a larger, cleaner file. All my footage will still be in iTunes via podcast as well. Be a champ and subscribe!
