Here's some footage from the X Games 12 Women's Street competition that you probably won't see in many places. Unfortunately, the gals still aren't getting the attention they deserve. There were no X Games TV cameras at this event, but the purse is growing at least, thank God. Maybe next year the multi-million-dollar-making X Games can spring for some coverage, because, quite honestly, these girls are doing more to promote X Games at this point than X Games are doing to promote these girls....

So I finally have the ability to get all my old VHS stuff onto this computer. Here's an old video of our crew back in NJ. The footage spans from 1996 or so until about 2000. The skaters featured are Tim O'Connor, Pancho Moler, Nick Protopappas, Me, Nick Kuzmak, Leo Fitzpatrick, Anthony Pezolla, Jerry Mikus, Matt Pepe, Damian Merchan, Chris Rozendi, Tim VanDerBas, and Tom Penneta. This is my first piece for Missbehave magazine. Stoked to be a part of this project. I'm already having a blast doing it. They even gave me a bio! Stay tuned for my far lengthier unedited interview with Regina Spektor.
Bronx-bred singer Regina Spektor is headlining a gig in Portland, Oregon. It's one of the weirdest she's ever played. The bizarre, half hippy, half-corporate crowd reminds the 26 year-old of White Plains, New York. Maybe Westchester. Spektor feels like she's being observed. She probably is.
“I think it's like the pot capital of America or something right?” says Spektor of Portland, “Maybe everyone was just high and withdrawn and sitting there spaced out. I'm curious to go back there and play again,” she muses., clearly deriving enjoyment from the act of performing itself, not just the response. For her, a lackluster audience is a no-lose situation. “I'll just start playing for myself really. You have a room, you have a piano and you get to sing your songs,” she reasons. “I'd be doing it in my bedroom without anyone else there anyway.”

Okay, this is random, but while going through all my old photos to get my galleries up, I found this mosh pit photo from a show at Masquerade in Tampa during the Tampa Am '04 contest. Check out the circled chick. Maybe she's not the legendary Moshzilla, but she's certainly of the same specis or origin. I'm stoked I found this. Mosh Girl never gets old.

Ya man, everyone's blogging about ASR today, eh? Yeah man, lemme get on that bandwagon. These pictures are all that's worth mentioning from the entire ASR weekend. And if a picture is worth 1,000 words, then I just wrote...um...well, a couple thousand words I think! I hate math.
Oh yea, and Chris Cole somehow did a double hardflip that bounced off the ground on the second flip (defense style) in the Game of S.K.A.T.E. It was pretty goddamn miraculous.
Banana tits. I ate that banana too, FYI.
