So I edited this Hot Dogs & Hessians video yesterday, right? But me, being the dumbass amateur that I am, left out the big Arto "ender ender banger." On top of that nonsense, I couldn't even figure out how to edit it into the already-completed footy I posted. Oh well. Here it is, all by it's lonesome. Enjoi it.

Was down at Active in Costa Mesa today with the etnies crew for the Hot Dogs and Hessians BBQ/Demo/gathering. You want names? Arto, Steamer, Leeper, Duncombe, Jake Brown, Weiss, Bickerstaff, Colamonico, Austin Stephens, Rob Gonzales, Montoya, Darrell, Watkins, Aultz, Guzman, Lauren Perkins and more. But most importantly...Sean Sheffey was there! Totally random. Totally rad. If you don't know about Sheffey, then you got some homework to do. Check out Life skateboard's A Soldier's Story one of these days. Your mind will be blown. There's two more days of this Hot Dogs and Hessians thing in SoCal, so stay tuned for lots of photos and a ton of video.

Ako stopped by Sole Tech today, and while trying to figure out who owned the Harley parked out in front of the building, I commented that soon the entire lot would be full of 'em. Ako's reply:

I always found it kinda interesting that skateboard companies will generously toss the word "family" around and market a "family" vibe in their ads, websites, press releases, etc. in reference to their team/brand...and then kick people off. I didn't really think you could kick someone out of a "family," but okay, whatever.

Remember Chomp On This? That was pretty much the last time a skateboarding video truly made me happy. Baker 3, Hot Chocolate and Bag of Suck came pretty close, but nothing can really compare to Chomp. Obviously, I'm not the only one that knows Gino is the man. I'm gonna miss that dude. Penny and Guy were always insane, and I'm glad they came back, but for me, there was something about Gino that put them to shame and skateboarding won't be the same if I can't watch him doin' it.
