Plan B-BQ?
I was fairly excited when Plan B announced their little Saturday afternoon BBQ and signing at the etnies Skatepark of Lake Forest today. However, after waiting around for three hours, only Paul Rodriguez and PJ Ladd showed up and neither skated. Paul signed autographs for a lineup of kids and PJ kinda hung around...

Where was the rest of the team? Or even a few more out of like, seven guys? Whatever happened to skateboarding demos? Autographs, cell phone photos and free product have taken precedent over skateboarding unfortunately. And as far as the pros, don't any of these dudes actually have the desire to skate when they are in the presence of a massive skatepark? Despite a lack of team and a lack of skateboarding, I managed to poach PJ Ladd messing around when some kid challenged him to a game of S.K.A.T.E. The kid was actually winning I think...but then PJ skated away mid-game.
At least I got a few free hot dogs out of 'em...

typical modern pro skateboarding. they dont skate at demos because they cant land tricks consistantly and therefore look like chumps. their video parts are edited together from almost a year's worth of footage, of which, the trick is finally made after 100 attempts. They dont enter contests and dont skate demos because they can't land a trick on command, simple as that. and from what i've seen recently at other demos, the crowd of skaters, lurkers and milfs could give a sh*t about the skating anyways, all anybody wants is a freebie.
it's just all about hip hop, shoes, freebies and 30 minute videos anymore, a total joke.

The Plan B crew hooked it up with lots of free food, water and LOST drinks!! I was really suprised to see PJ there, he might have not skated the park but to see him actually hanging out with the kids talking to them was awesome. I feel that the kids were the focus and most important. I feel that PJ and Paul did very well making them happy!! I really wanted to meet Pat Duffy but he was in Vegas filming a commercial for LOST!!
I believe the kid who was playing S.K.A.T.E with PJ was a TWO FELONS Team rider! He was really good!!.. Man I had so much fun there! When's the next Bar-B-Q?? I'll be there!!

We were there and it was a fun BBQ. Any excuse to close the shop for the day is a good one. It was a good time for everyone. We brought down our kids and our team riders for the day. As far as waiting 3 hours...better late than never. As far as only 2 guys showing...it could have been zero. You know how hard it is to get your friends together for a backyard BBQ imagine trying to get these guys together. Josh beat him and Josh knows anyone could have a bad day. But Micah is a true punk for hating on Josh. Why dis someone for beating a pro let him enjoy the win. It doesn't make PJ any less great than he is. Micah if your so down I'll put $100 on Josh against you in a game of SKATE.
